Trainee Quantity Surveyor
What does your role involve?
I assist senior members of the team with estimating costs, measuring materials and managing budgets, while also learning about contract administration within the construction industry and developing essential skills for a future career as a Quantity Surveyor.
What’s your background?
I am a second year student at Loughborough University and currently on an industrial placement with Elkins as part of my course.
What are you enjoying most so far about your role?
I’m enjoying learning about cost estimation, contract management, and construction processes. I find satisfaction in contributing to projects, visiting construction sites, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic industry on my journey to becoming a skilled Quantity Surveyor.
What appealed to you about the company?
I was excited by the fact that Elkins had a plan to help me with my career development. It’s a great team and, having now worked alongside them, I know it was the correct decision to make.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy training, catching up with friends and relaxing.
