Over the jubilee weekend, we were pleased to support another fantastic community event at Silverlock Estate, where we are currently on site providing ongoing maintenance and refurbishment works for London Borough of Southwark.
The over 50’s Jubilee Party, organised by Silverlock Estate TRA, took place on Friday 3rd June. Residents and local people who attended were treated to a packed programme of activities, including a raffle, bingo, and fantastic performances by 1940s singing duo Swingtime Sweethearts and Mike Marandi.
Every attendee was treated to a traditional British two-course meal of sausage and mash, followed by apple crumble with custard. We were pleased to supply £250 of Tesco vouchers, which helped provide food and drink for the event.
Gill Davis, Chair of Silverlock Estate TRA said: “It was fantastic to bring members of the local community together to celebrate this historic occasion. Older people can often feel isolated, so we wanted to make sure there was somewhere for them to come and join in the jubilee celebrations. We’re grateful for Elkins’ continued support, which helps make events like this possible.”
