Elkins Construction is pleased to announce its support of the Mayor’s Fund for London’s Firm Foundations campaign.
Launched in 2021, the campaign was created to encourage and support young Londoners from lower socio-economic backgrounds to get into the Built Environment (BE) industry. Many young people from under-represented communities are either unaware of, or not afforded the opportunity to get into the industry. The Firm Foundations campaign aims to change that, creating a stronger, more diverse Built Environment in the capital.
In our role as an industry partner, we are pledging to provide a series of talks and initiatives to local schools in the South East London communities we work in, promoting construction as an exciting and inclusive career for all.
Elkins’ Managing Director, Ray Elkins, said: “As a family business, we have always promoted and sourced talent directly from the local communities where we work. This initiative and our commitment to Firm Foundations will help us attract the next generation into the industry to ensure Elkins’ legacy of fairness and equality continues.”
